altLa International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) ha hecho públicas las nominaciones a sus premios anuales, que alcanzan su 13ª edición. En la lista no faltan compositores españoles. Fernando Velázquez está entre los cinco candidatos a Compositor del Año; Alberto Iglesias está nominado a Mejor Score de Documental por Spain in a Day y a Mejor Recopilación por Archipiélago, y Víctor Reyes está nominado en la categoría de Mejor Score de TV por The Night Manager. Además, Quartet Records, el sello de José María Benítez, también está nominado en la categoría de Mejor Compañía. Discográfica.

En cuanto a los compositores con mayor número de nominaciones, destacan en primer lugar los nombres de Michael Giacchino y Justin Hurwitz, con cinco candidaturas cada uno, seguidos de Abel Korzeniowski con cuatro.

Las cinco candidatas a mejor banda sonora del 2016 son Arrival (Jóhann Jóhannsson), Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (James Newton Howard), La La Land (Justin Hurwitz), Nocturnal Animals (Abel Korzeniowski) y La tortue rouge (Laurent Perez del Mar).
