Come this September and it begins the final process for the 10th edition of the Jerry Goldsmith Awards. Before the holiday period, BSOSpirit Association publicly thanked composers for their overwhelming participation and support in it. All this shows the prestige, quality and value behind these awards.
In total 124 composers and 264 soundtracks, spread throughout its 10 categories, are responsible for placing the bar really high this year. And also making really difficult for the Association, due to its high quality, to select the final nominees in each category. These nominees will be announced to the public from next September 7th. From which, daily, will be announced in accordance with the following schedule:
– Monday, September 7th: Nominees in the categories of Best Original Score in Free Creation Form and Best Original Song
– Tuesday, September 8th: Nominees in the categories of Best Original Soundtrack for Advertising and Best Original Score for Promotional Works
– Wednesday, September 9th: Nominees in the categories of Best Original Score for a Documentary Film and Best Original Score for Television and Web Series
– Thursday, September 10th: Nominees in the categories of Best Original Score for Live Action Short Film and Best Original Score for an Animated Short Film
– Friday, September 11th: Nominees in the categories of Best Original Score for a Video Game and Best Original Score for a Feature
The Jerry Goldsmith Awards are intended to support and recognize the work of composers in the audiovisual medium. Especially the young, novice or those who are starting to be experienced in the media, but who have not obtained a high degree of recognition yet. In that sense, the awards recognize the work of these composers in the creation of musical works of all kinds and characteristics. Making room for all composers regardless of whatever field and musical style in which they have developed their work or the scores presented.
